स चिन्तयामास ततो महाकपिः प्रियामपश्यन्रघुनन्दनस्य ताम् | ध्रुवं हि सीता म्रियते यथा न मे विचिन्वतो दर्शनमेति मैथिली || ५-१२-२

sanskrit

The great monkey, unable to find the beloved of Rama thought Sita might not be surviving. So he started thinking, 'I could not see her even though I have searched all over. [5-12-2]

english translation

sa cintayAmAsa tato mahAkapiH priyAmapazyanraghunandanasya tAm | dhruvaM hi sItA mriyate yathA na me vicinvato darzanameti maithilI || 5-12-2
