यो ध्रुवाणि परित्यज्य ह्यध्रुवं परिसेवते । ध्रुवाणि तस्य नश्यन्ति चाध्रुवं नष्टमेव तत्।।१३।।

sanskrit

If a person gives up an imperishable thing for a perishable thing, he certainly loses the imperishable thing and there is no doubt that he also loses the perishable thing.

english translation

जो व्यक्ति किसी नाशवान वस्तु के लिए अविनाशी वस्तु को छोड़ देता है, तो उसके हाथ से अविनाशी वस्तु तो चली ही जाती है और इसमे कोई शंका नहीं है की नाशवान वस्तु को भी वह खो देता है।

yo dhruvANi parityajya hyadhruvaM parisevate | dhruvANi tasya nazyanti cAdhruvaM naSTameva tat||13||
