    अजोऽपि सन्नव्ययात्मा भूतानामीश्वरोऽपि सन् । प्रकृतिं स्वामधिष्ठाय सम्भवाम्यात्ममायया ॥ ४-६ ॥

    Though I am birthless, undecaying by nature, and Shri Bhagvan of beings, (still) by subjugating My Prakriti (nature), I take birth by means of My own Yogmaya.

  2. 7

    यदा यदा हि धर्मस्य ग्लानिर्भवति भारत । अभ्युत्थानमधर्मस्य तदात्मानं सृजाम्यहम् ॥ ४-७ ॥

    O descendant of Bharat, whenever there is a decline of Dharma (righteousness) and uprising of Adharma (unrighteousness), then I incarnate Myself.

    परित्राणाय साधूनां विनाशाय च दुष्कृताम् । धर्मसंस्थापनार्थाय सम्भवामि युगे युगे ॥ ४-८ ॥

    For the protection of the pious, the destruction of the evil-doers, and establishing Dharma (righteousness), I incarnate myself in every age.

  4. 9

    जन्म कर्म च मे दिव्यमेवं यो वेत्ति तत्त्वतः । त्यक्त्वा देहं पुनर्जन्म नैति मामेति सोऽर्जुन ॥ ४-९ ॥

    He who thus know, in their true light, My divine birth and action, having abandoned the body, is not born again, he becomes one with Me, O Arjuna.

    वीतरागभयक्रोधा मन्मया मामुपाश्रिताः । बहवो ज्ञानतपसा पूता मद्भावमागताः ॥ ४-१० ॥

    Many persons, who are free from passion, fear and anger; are full of Me; take refuge in Me; and have become pure by the austerity of wisdom-they have come to My being.
