    विवस्वतस्तनूजस्य हरेश्च कुशपर्वणः | ऋक्षस्य केतुमालस्य मम चैव गतिर्भवेत् || ५-३-१६

    'Son of Vivaswan (Sugriva), the chief of vanaras, Kushaparva, Riksha (Jambavan), Ketumala and myself also will be able to reach this place.' [5-3-16]

    समीक्ष्य तु महाबाहू राघवस्य पराक्रमम् | लक्ष्मणस्य च विक्रान्तमभवत् प्रीतिमान् कपिः || ५-३-१७

    Reflecting upon the valour of longarmed Rama and valiant advances of Lakshmana Hamuman felt pleased (within himself). [5-3-17]

    तां रत्नवसनोपेतां कोष्ठागारावतंसकाम् | यन्त्रागारस्तनीमृद्धां प्रमदामिव भूषिताम् || ५-३-१८

    The prosperous city was like a well decorated young maiden, adorned with ornaments having walls for her dress, the stables for her earrings, the armouries for her breasts. [5-3-18]

    तां नष्टतिमिरां दीप्तैर्भास्वरैश्च महागृहैः | नगरीं राक्षसेन्द्रस्य स ददर्श महाकपिः || ५-३-१९

    Hanuman looked at the city of the demon king, whose darkness was dispelled by bright gems and mighty mansions were glowing. [5-3-19]

    अथ सा हरिशार्दूलं प्रविशन्तं महाबलम् | नगरी स्वेन रूपेण ददर्श पवनात्मजम् || ५-३-२०

    Assuming her real form the presiding deity of Lanka noticed the son of the Windgod, the tiger among vanaras of great prowess entering the city. [5-3-20]
