नमस्ते पृश्निगर्भाय वेदगर्भाय वेधसे । त्रिनाभाय त्रिपृष्ठाय शिपिविष्टाय विष्णवे ।। ८-१७-२६ ।।

sanskrit

I offer my respectful obeisances unto You, the all-pervading Lord Viṣṇu, who have entered the cores of the hearts of all living entities. All the three worlds reside within Your navel, yet You are above the three worlds. Formerly You appeared as the son of Pṛśni. To You, the supreme creator, who are understood only through Vedic knowledge, I offer my respectful obeisances. ।। 8-17-26 ।।

english translation

हे सर्वव्यापी भगवान् विष्णु! मैं आपको सादर नमस्कार करता हूँ क्योंकि आप समस्त जीवों के हृदयों के भीतर स्थित हैं। तीनों लोक आपकी नाभि के भीतर निवास करते हैं, फिर भी आप इन तीनों लोकों से परे हैं। पहले आप पृश्नि के पुत्र रूप में प्रकट हुए थे। मैं उन परम स्रष्टा को सादर नमस्कार करता हूँ जिन्हें केवल वैदिक ज्ञान के द्वारा ही जाना जा सकता है। ।। ८-१७-२६ ।।

त्वमादिरन्तो भुवनस्य मध्यमनन्तशक्तिं पुरुषं यमाहुः । कालो भवानाक्षिपतीश विश्वं स्रोतो यथान्तः पतितं गभीरम् ।। ८-१७-२७ ।।

sanskrit

O my Lord, You are the beginning, the manifestation and the ultimate dissolution of the three worlds, and You are celebrated in the Vedas as the reservoir of unlimited potencies, the Supreme Person. O my Lord, as waves attract branches and leaves that have fallen into deep water, You, the supreme eternal time factor, attract everything in this universe. ।। 8-17-27 ।।

english translation

हे प्रभु! आप तीनों लोकों के आदि, मध्य तथा अन्त हैं और वेदों में आप असीम शक्तियों के आगार परम पुरुष के रूप में विख्यात हैं। हे स्वामी! जिस प्रकार लहरें गहरे जल में गिरी हुई टहनियों तथा पत्तियों को खींच लेती हैं उसी प्रकार परम शाश्वत काल रूप आप इस ब्रह्माण्ड की प्रत्येक वस्तु को खींचते हैं। ।। ८-१७-२७ ।।

tvamAdiranto bhuvanasya madhyamanantazaktiM puruSaM yamAhuH | kAlo bhavAnAkSipatIza vizvaM sroto yathAntaH patitaM gabhIram || 8-17-27 ||

त्वं वै प्रजानां स्थिरजङ्गमानां प्रजापतीनामसि सम्भविष्णुः । दिवौकसां देव दिवश्च्युतानां परायणं नौरिव मज्जतोऽप्सु ।। ८-१७-२८ ।।

sanskrit

My Lord, You are the original generator of all living entities, stationary or moving, and You are also the generator of the Prajāpatis. O my Lord, as a boat is the only hope for a person drowning in the water, You are the only shelter for the demigods, who are now bereft of their heavenly position. ।। 8-17-28 ।।

english translation

हे प्रभु! आप समस्त चर या अचर जीवों के आदि जनक हैं और आप प्रजापतियों के भी जनक हैं। हे स्वामी! जिस प्रकार जल में डूबते हुए व्यक्ति के लिए नाव ही एकमात्र सहारा होती है उसी तरह आप इस समय अपने स्वर्ग-पद से च्युत देवताओं के एकमात्र आश्रय हैं। ।। ८-१७-२८ ।।
