उद्धव उवाच वदन्ति कृष्ण श्रेयांसि बहूनि ब्रह्मवादिनः । तेषां विकल्पप्राधान्यमुताहो एकमुख्यता ॥ ११-१४-१ ॥

Śrī Uddhava said: My dear Kṛṣṇa, the learned sages who explain Vedic literature recommend various processes for perfecting one’s life. Considering these varieties of viewpoint, my Lord, please tell me whether all these processes are equally important, or whether one of them is supreme. ॥ 11-14-1 ॥

श्री उद्धव ने कहा: मेरे प्रिय कृष्ण, वैदिक साहित्य की व्याख्या करने वाले विद्वान ऋषि किसी के जीवन को पूर्ण बनाने के लिए विभिन्न प्रक्रियाओं की सलाह देते हैं। इन विभिन्न प्रकार के दृष्टिकोणों पर विचार करते हुए, हे प्रभु, कृपया मुझे बताएं कि क्या ये सभी प्रक्रियाएं समान रूप से महत्वपूर्ण हैं, या क्या उनमें से एक सर्वोच्च है। ॥ ११-१४-१ ॥

भवतोदाहृतः स्वामिन् भक्तियोगोऽनपेक्षितः । निरस्य सर्वतः सङ्गं येन त्वय्याविशेन्मनः ॥ ११-१४-२ ॥

My dear Lord, You have clearly explained the process of unalloyed devotional service, by which a devotee removes all material association from his life, enabling him to fix his mind on You. ॥ 11-14-2 ॥

मेरे प्रिय भगवान, आपने शुद्ध भक्ति सेवा की प्रक्रिया को स्पष्ट रूप से समझाया है, जिसके द्वारा एक भक्त अपने जीवन से सभी भौतिक संगति को हटा देता है, जिससे वह अपना मन आप पर केंद्रित कर पाता है। ॥ ११-१४-२ ॥

श्रीभगवानुवाच कालेन नष्टा प्रलये वाणीयं वेदसंज्ञिता । मयाऽऽदौ ब्रह्मणे प्रोक्ता धर्मो यस्यां मदात्मकः ॥ ११-१४-३ ॥

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: By the influence of time, the transcendental sound of Vedic knowledge was lost at the time of annihilation. Therefore, when the subsequent creation took place, I spoke the Vedic knowledge to Brahmā because I Myself am the religious principles enunciated in the Vedas. ॥ 11-14-3 ॥

भगवान के परम व्यक्तित्व ने कहा: समय के प्रभाव से, विनाश के समय वैदिक ज्ञान की दिव्य ध्वनि खो गई थी। इसलिए, जब अगली सृष्टि हुई, तो मैंने ब्रह्मा को वैदिक ज्ञान सुनाया क्योंकि मैं स्वयं वेदों में प्रतिपादित धार्मिक सिद्धांत हूं। ॥ ११-१४-३ ॥

तेन प्रोक्ता च पुत्राय मनवे पूर्वजाय सा । ततो भृग्वादयोऽगृह्णन् सप्त ब्रह्ममहर्षयः ॥ ११-१४-४ ॥

Lord Brahmā spoke this Vedic knowledge to his eldest son, Manu, and the seven great sages headed by Bhṛgu Muni then accepted the same knowledge from Manu. ॥ 11-14-4 ॥

भगवान ब्रह्मा ने इस वैदिक ज्ञान को अपने सबसे बड़े पुत्र मनु को बताया और फिर भृगु मुनि के नेतृत्व में सात महान ऋषियों ने मनु से वही ज्ञान स्वीकार किया। ॥ ११-१४-४ ॥

तेभ्यः पितृभ्यस्तत्पुत्रा देवदानवगुह्यकाः । मनुष्याः सिद्धगन्धर्वाः सविद्याधरचारणाः ॥ ११-१४-५ ॥

From the forefathers headed by Bhṛgu Muni and other sons of Brahmā appeared many children and descendants, who assumed different forms as demigods, demons, human beings, Guhyakas, Siddhas, Gandharvas, Vidyādharas, Cāraṇas, ॥ 11-14-5 ॥

भृगु मुनि और ब्रह्मा के अन्य पुत्रों के नेतृत्व में पूर्वजों से कई बच्चे और वंशज प्रकट हुए, जिन्होंने देवताओं, राक्षसों, मनुष्यों, गुह्यकों, सिद्धों, गंधर्वों, विद्याधरों, चारणों जैसे विभिन्न रूप धारण किए। ॥ ११-१४-५ ॥
