'These two excellent celestial bows are wellknown throughout the worlds. They are stout and strong. They are the best of all, wellmade by Vishvakarma. ॥ 1-75-11॥

Oh ! best one among men, out of the two longbows gods gave one to restive Trymbaka, God Shiva for a combat with demon Tripura and oh ! Kakutstha, that bow alone is the annihilator of Tripura, the demon . and you have broken that alone . ॥ 1-75-12॥

english translation

anisRSTaM surairekaM tryambakAya yuyutsave । tripuraghnaM narazreSTha bhagnaM kAkutstha yattvayA ॥ 1-75-12

इदं द्वितीयं दुर्धर्षं विष्णोर्दत्तं सुरोत्तमैः । तदिदं वैष्णवं राम धनुः परपुरञ्जयम् ॥ १-७५-१३

sanskrit

This second bow which is unassailable was given by chief of the celestials to Vishnu. This bow of Vishnu is highly radiant and enemy-citadel conquering longbow. ॥ 1-75-13॥

idaM dvitIyaM durdharSaM viSNordattaM surottamaiH । tadidaM vaiSNavaM rAma dhanuH parapuraJjayam ॥ 1-75-13

समानसारं काकुत्स्थ रौद्रेण धनुषा त्विदम् । तदा तु देवताः सर्वाः पृच्छन्ति स्म पितामहम् ॥ १-७५-१४

Oh ! Rama born in the race of Kakutstha, this bow ( of Vishnu ) is as strong as the bow of Shiva. Once, all the gods were asking the Grandparent, Brahma - ॥ 1-75-14॥

samAnasAraM kAkutstha raudreNa dhanuSA tvidam । tadA tu devatAH sarvAH pRcchanti sma pitAmaham ॥ 1-75-14

- ( who is more powerful ?) in order to ascertain the strength and weakness of the blue-throated Shiva and Vishnu. Having come to know the intention of the gods, Grandsire Brahma . - ॥ 1-75-15॥
