'As king Dasharatha's city of Ayodhya appertains ( in the matter of governance ) to you, in the same way my city of Mithila.... This right is unquestionable. So do ( give command ) whatever you think right.' [1-72-16]
Oh ! Gods of Mithila ( Mithileshvara, Janaka and Kushadhvaja ), you both brothers possess countless virtues and you pay regards to many rishis and hosts of kings. [1-72-18]
Be safe. Be blessed. Let me retire to the camp, I will customarily carry out the tributary rituals of Naandiimukh-shraadha ( offerings to the forefathers ).' ( Dasharatha said thus ) [1-72-19]
On seeking leave of absence from the sovereign of people ( Janaka ), that highly renowned king Dasharatha promptly departed from there, keeping both of the eminent-saints ( Vishvamitra and Vashishta ) afore. [1-72-20]
