दूतवाक्यं तु तच्छ्रुत्वा राजा परमहर्षितः । वसिष्ठं वामदेवं च मंत्रिणश्चैवमब्रवीत् ॥ १-६८-१६
Exceedingly happy to hear the words of the delegates, the king said to Vashishtha, Vamadeva and other ministers. ॥ 1-68-16॥
english translation
dUtavAkyaM tu tacchrutvA rAjA paramaharSitaH । vasiSThaM vAmadevaM ca maMtriNazcaivamabravIt ॥ 1-68-16
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगुप्तः कुशिकपुत्रेण कौसल्यानन्दवर्धनः । लक्ष्मणेन सह भ्रात्रा विदेहेषु वसत्यसौ ॥ १-६८-१७
The enhancer of the joy of Kaushalya (Rama) along with his brother Lakshmana under the protection of Vishvamitra is now staying in the coutry of the Videhas. ॥ 1-68-17॥

guptaH kuzikaputreNa kausalyAnandavardhanaH । lakSmaNena saha bhrAtrA videheSu vasatyasau ॥ 1-68-17
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदृष्टवीर्यस्तु काकुत्स्थो जनकेन महात्मना । संप्रदानं सुतायास्तु राघवे कर्तुमिच्छति ॥ १-६८-१८
On observing the valour of Kakutstha ( Rama ), noble souled Janaka wishes to give his daughter as bride to Raghava ( Rama ) . ॥ 1-68-18॥

dRSTavIryastu kAkutstho janakena mahAtmanA । saMpradAnaM sutAyAstu rAghave kartumicchati ॥ 1-68-18
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयदि वो रोचते वृत्तं जनकस्य महात्मनः । पुरीं गच्छामहे शीघ्रं मा भूत्कालस्य पर्ययः ॥ १-६८-१९
If you approve the action, of the distinguished Janaka, let us hurry to the city of Mithila. Let there be no delay.' ॥ 1-68-19॥

yadi vo rocate vRttaM janakasya mahAtmanaH । purIM gacchAmahe zIghraM mA bhUtkAlasya paryayaH ॥ 1-68-19
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमन्त्रिणो बाढमित्याहु: सह सर्वैर्महर्षिभि: । सुप्रीतश्चाब्रवीद्राजा श्वो यात्रेति स मन्त्रिण:॥ १-६८-२०
All the maharshis and the ministers said, 'certainly so'. And the king, overwhelmed with joy, said, "we start tomorrow". ॥ 1-68-20॥
