    'There seeing the cave overflowing with the gushing blood, I was bewildered, thinking that my brother might have been killed. I suffered intense agony. [4-46-6]

    अथाऽहं कृतबुद्धिस्तु सुव्यक्तं निहतो गुरुः | शिला पर्वतसङ्काशा बिलद्वारि मया कृता || ४-४६-७

    'Thereafter, convinced that my brother was killed, I placed a mountainsize rock at the entrance of the cave so that..... - [4-46-7]

    अशक्नुव न्निष्क्रमितुं महिषो विनशेदिति | ततोऽहमागां किष्किन्धां निराशस्तस्य जीविते || ४-४६-८

    - buffalo (Dundubhi) will be destroyed, unable to come out of the cave. I lost hope of his life and came back to Kishkinda. [4-46-8]

    राज्यं च सुमहत्प्राप्य तारया रुमया सह | मित्रैश्च सहितस्तत्र वसामि विगतज्वरः || ४-४६-९

    'Having got the kingdom, and also Ruma and Tara, I was anointed king and ruled it fearlessly with all friends. [4-46-9]

    आजगाम ततो वाली हत्वा तं दानवर्षभम् | ततोऽहमददां राज्यं गौरवाद्भययन्त्रितः || ४-४६-१०

    'Vali then came back to Kishkindha on killing that great demon, and then I was spellbound in fear of Vali's killing me, and I gave back the kingdom to Vali owing to my deference to him. [4-46-10]
