    चिरस्य खलु काकुत्स्थ पश्यामि त्वामिहागतम् | श्रुतं तव मया चेदं विवासनमकारणम् || २-५४-२१

    - 'Oh ! descendant of the Kakutstha dynasty, I am able to see you on your arrival here after a long time. I have also heard about your unwarranted banishment. [2-54-21]

    अवकाशो विविक्तोऽयं महानद्योस्समागमे | पुण्यश्च रमणीयश्च वसत्विह भवान् सुखम् || २-५४-२२

    This sacred and solitary region near the confluence of two great rivers (Ganga and Yamuna) is a pleasant place. You may stay here comfortably.' [2-54-22]

    एवमुक्तस्तु वचनं भरद्वाजेन राघवः | प्रत्युवाच शुभं वाक्यं रामः सर्वहिते रतः || २-५४-२३

    Raaghava ( Rama, born in the dynasty of Raghu ), ever devoted to the wellbeing of every one, heard Bharadwaja and replied to him with these auspicious words : - [2-54-23]

    भगवन्नित आसन्नः पौरजानपदो जनः | सुदर्शमिह मां प्रेक्ष्य मन्येऽहमिममाश्रमम् || २-५४-२४

    - 'Oh ! venerable sage, the people of the city and the rural folks are nearer to this place. I presume, finding me easy to see at this hermitage,..... - [2-54-24]

    आगमिष्यति वैदेहीं मां चापि प्रेक्षको जनः | अनेन कारणेनाहमिह वासं न रोचये || २-५४-२५

    - people keen to see Sita and myself, will make their appearance. For this reason, I do not wish to stay here. [2-54-25]
