    तव नाशं च वैदेहि वालिनश्च वधं तथा | प्रायोपवेशमस्माकं मरणं च जटायुषः || ५-३५-६१

    - about your loss O Vaidehi, the killing of Vali, the death of Jatayu and our practice of calmly awaiting for the approach of death in simply sitting down. [5-35-61]

    तेषां नस्वामिसन्देशान्निराशानां मुमूर्षताम् | कार्यहेतोरिवायातश्शकुनिर्वीर्यवान्महान् || ५-३५-६२

    'When we were disappointed (in tracing you) and were at the point of death having been commanded by the king (that whosoever overstays would be killed) a gigantic powerful bird appeared to fulfil our task. [5-35-62]

    गृध्रराजस्य सोदर्यः सम्पातिर्नाम गृध्रराट् | श्रुत्वा भ्रातृवधं कोपादिदं वचनमब्रवीत् || ५-३५-६३

    'That king of vultures, Sampati was the brother of king of birds Jatayu. Hearing about the death of his younger brother Sampati felt distressed and spoke in anger : - [5-35-63]

    यवीयान्केन मे भ्राता हतः क्व च निपातितः | एतदाख्यातुमिच्छामि भवद्भिर्वानरोत्तमाः || ५-३५-६४

    'O best of vanaras by whom was my younger brother killed? Where was he dropped down? I wish you to tell me all about that. [5-35-64]

    अङ्गदोऽकथयत्तस्य जनस्थाने महद्वधम् | रक्षसा भीमरूपेण त्वामुद्दिश्य यथातथम् || ५-३५-६५

    'Then, Angada told Sampati a detailed account of events which led to the killing of that great bird (Jatayu) at Janasthana, by a demon of terrific form, for your sake. [5-35-65]
