1. 11

    तास्ववात्सीत्स्वसृष्टासु सहस्रपरिवत्सरान् । तेन नारायणो नाम यदापः पुरुषोद्भवाः ।। २-१०-११ ।।

    That Supreme Person is not impersonal and therefore is distinctively a nara, or person. Therefore the transcendental water created from the Supreme Nara is known as nāra. And because He lies down on that water, He is known as Nārāyaṇa. ।। 2-10-11 ।।

    द्रव्यं कर्म च कालश्च स्वभावो जीव एव च । यदनुग्रहतः सन्ति न सन्ति यदुपेक्षया ।। २-१०-१२ ।।

    One should definitely know that all material ingredients, activities, time and modes, and the living entities who are meant to enjoy them all, exist by His mercy only, and as soon as He does not care for them, everything becomes nonexistent. ।। 2-10-12 ।।

    एको नानात्वमन्विच्छन् योगतल्पात्समुत्थितः । वीर्यं हिरण्मयं देवो मायया व्यसृजत्त्रिधा ।। २-१०-१३ ।।

    The Lord, while lying on His bed of mystic slumber, generated the seminal symbol, golden in hue, through external energy out of His desire to manifest varieties of living entities from Himself alone. ।। 2-10-13 ।।

    अधिदैवमथाध्यात्ममधिभूतमिति प्रभुः । यथैकं पौरुषं वीर्यं त्रिधाभिद्यत तच्छृणु ।। २-१०-१४ ।।

    Just hear from me how the potency of His Lordship divides one into three, called the controlling entities, the controlled entities and the material bodies, in the manner mentioned above. ।। 2-10-14 ।।

    अन्तःशरीर आकाशात्पुरुषस्य विचेष्टतः । ओजः सहो बलं जज्ञे ततः प्राणो महानसुः ।। २-१०-१५ ।‌।

    From the sky situated within the transcendental body of the manifesting Mahā-Viṣṇu, sense energy, mental force and bodily strength are all generated, as well as the sum total of the fountainhead of the total living force. ।। 2-10-15 ।‌।
