    शुश्रूषाम् गौरवम् चैव प्रमाणम् वचनक्रियाम् | कस्ते भूयस्तरम् कुर्यादन्यत्र मनुजर्षभात् || २-१२-२६

    In fact, who else other than Rama the best of men could do much more service to you with respect, with correct notion and in obedience? [2-12-26]

    बहूनाम् स्त्रीसहस्राणाम् बहूनाम् चोपजीविनाम् | परिवादोऽपवादो वा राघवे नोपपद्यते || २-१२-२७

    No censure or calumny against this scion of the Raghu dynasty (Rama) can come from many thousands of women or from numerous dependents ( in the inner apartment maintained by me ). [2-12-27]

  3. 28

    सान्त्वयन् सर्वभूतानि रामः शुद्धेन चेतसा | गृह्णाति मनुजव्याग्रः प्रियैर्विषयवासिनः || २-१२-२८

    The tiger among men Rama, has won the trust of the inhabitants of the country by securing their affection with a pure heart and by doing acts dear to them. [2-12-28]

  4. 29

    सत्येन लोकान् जयति दीनान् दानेन राघवः | गुरून् शुश्रूषया वीरो धनुशा युधि शात्रवान् || २-१२-२९

    Rama is a hero who wins over the people by his truthfulness, the poor by charity, the preceptors by his service and the enemies in the battle by the power of his bow. [2-12-29]

    सत्यम् दानम् तपस्त्यगो वित्रता शौचमार्जवम् | विद्या च गुरुशुश्रूषा ध्रुवाण्येतानि राघवे || २-१२-३०

    Truth, munificence, asceticism, renunciation, purity, uprightness, learning and service to his superiors all those (virtues) are firmly planted in this descendant of the Raghus ( Rama ). [2-12-30]
